“Symbiosis: Ecology of Emotions” is a series by Chao that uses parasitic creatures as metaphors for human feelings—anxiety, loneliness, and unresolved wounds. These strange yet lovable beings visualize how emotions coexist and depend on one another, inviting a gentle reflection on care and survival. The collection spans digital drawings and looping animations, bridging on-chain NFTs with physical exhibitions. Produced with support from the ABB Art & Technology Support Program 2025.

『Symbiosis: 감정의 생태계』는 차오가 ‘기생 생명체’를 통해 불안, 외로움, 상처 등 인간의 감정을 시각화하는 시리즈입니다. 낯설지만 사랑스러운 존재들은 서로 기생·공생하는 감정의 관계를 드러내며, 함께 살아가는 가능성을 질문합니다. 본 컬렉션은 디지털 드로잉과 짧은 루프 애니메이션으로 구성되며, 온라인 NFT와 오프라인 전시를 잇는 확장형 작업입니다. ABB Art & Technology Support Program 2025의 지원으로 제작되었습니다.

〈심지 않은 씨앗〉 시리즈는 ‘의지와 상관없이 내 안에 심어진 감정과 상처’의 과정을 다섯 단계로 나누어 표현한 디지털 드로잉 연작이다.

씨앗이 심기고, 내면에 뿌리내리고, 자라나고, 결국 뽑혀나감으로써 생명성을 잃는 과정을 순차적으로 보여준다.

작가는 이 조용한 침투와 성장, 그리고 상실의 과정을 기괴하지만 따뜻한 유기체로 형상화하며, 감정과 상처가 함께 살아가고 소멸하는 방식을 탐구한다.

The “Unplanted Seed” series is a five-part digital drawing sequence that depicts the process of wounds and emotions planted within me without my will.

Across five stages—being planted, taking root, growing, and ultimately being pulled out and losing vitality—the series visualizes the life cycle of unchosen emotions.

The artist renders these quiet traces of intrusion, growth, and loss into strange yet affectionate organisms, exploring how feelings and scars coexist and eventually wither away.
