The Daegu Intangible Cultural Heritage Association aims to preserve and develop the unique intangible cultural heritage of Daegu, and to pass on the value of this heritage to future generations through systematic and organized transmission activities. The association consists of a total of 19 items, including 17 items designated as Daegu intangible cultural heritage and 2 items as national intangible heritage.

- 작품설명: 단청이란 동양사상의 음양오행설에 근거한 오방색을 기본으로 하여 건조물을 장식하거나 공예품에 채화하여 의장하는 작업뿐만 아니라 고분벽화, 사찰벽화, 불화 등 단청의 개념은 아주 넓다.

이 작품은 건물단청에 주로 사용되는 무늬를 동그란 합판에 그린 우리나라 고유의 독특한 문양으로 38개의 문양을 역동성 있게 배치하여 세계 속에서 우뚝 비상하는 대한민국을 생각한 작품이다.

- Description: Dancheong (丹靑) refers to the traditional Korean decorative technique based on the Eastern philosophy of yin-yang and the five elements, utilizing the five cardinal colors to adorn buildings and craft items. The concept of dancheong is broad, encompassing not only architectural decoration but also mural paintings in tombs, temple murals, and Buddhist paintings.

This artwork features unique traditional patterns of Korea, primarily used in architectural dancheong, painted on round plywood. The 38 dynamic patterns are arranged to symbolize South Korea soaring high and standing tall in the world.
