The Daegu Intangible Cultural Heritage Association aims to preserve and develop the unique intangible cultural heritage of Daegu, and to pass on the value of this heritage to future generations through systematic and organized transmission activities. The association consists of a total of 19 items, including 17 items designated as Daegu intangible cultural heritage and 2 items as national intangible heritage.

- 작품설명:  신중은 처음, 인도의 재래신(在來神)이었는데 불교에 수용하여 불법과 도량을 수호하는 외호신(外護神)의 역할을 해 왔으며, 그 후 칠성(七星)이나 산신(山神), 조왕(竈王) 등 중국과 우리나라의 토속신앙(土俗信仰)까지도 취합(聚合)하여 지금은 최대 104위의 신중들로 구성되어 있다.

신중탱화의 모든 권속들은 황색(黃色)이나 금색(金色)의 얼굴이 없는 것이 특징인데, 금색신(金色身)은 불, 보살상에만 적용되는 피부색으로, 신중은 모두 부처님의 퇴공(退供)을 받으면서 훗날 성불할 것을 서원(誓願)한 호법선신(護法善神)들 이기 때문이다. 이 탱화는 2015년 쌍계사 대웅전에 봉안한 일백사위 신중탱화이다.

- Description: The Divine Guardians (神衆) originally referred to traditional deities from India, which were incorporated into Buddhism to serve as protective deities of the Dharma and sacred spaces. Over time, these guardians have included local deities from Chinese and Korean folk beliefs, such as the Seven Stars (七星), Mountain Gods (山神), and Kitchen Gods (竈王), culminating in a total of 104 divine guardians.

A distinctive feature of the Divine Guardian paintings is that all the figures have yellow or gold-colored faces, which is a skin tone that applies only to Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. This is because the Divine Guardians are all protective deities who have received the Buddha's blessings and have vowed to attain enlightenment in the future. This painting is the 104 Divine Guardian painting enshrined in the Daeungjeon Hall of Ssanggyesa Temple in 2015.
